Numina: Support

Need Help?

We are here to help you and your child get the most out of Numina. Check the common questions below, or reach out to us directly. To understand the learning approach behind the app, see our Research and Method page.

Common Questions

What ages is Numina for?

Numina is designed for children aged 8 to 11 (roughly grades 3 to 6). It covers the heart of primary-school arithmetic, from number sense and times tables to fractions, decimals, and percentages. Because the difficulty adapts to each child, slightly younger or older learners can enjoy it too.

Can more than one child use Numina?

Yes. Open the grown-up area and tap "Add a child" to create a profile for each child. Every child gets their own progress, level, streak, medals, and Sparks, kept completely separate. On launch, a "Who's playing?" screen lets each child pick themselves, and you can switch any time with the people button on the Home screen. Profiles are not accounts and need no sign-up.

Is my child's data private?

Yes. Numina collects no personal information, shows no ads, and includes no third-party tracking or analytics. Progress is stored on the device and, if you choose, synced through your own private iCloud, which we cannot access. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.

Is there a grown-up area for parents?

Yes. Tap the adult or parent button on the Home screen and complete the simple gate. Inside, you can see what your child is mastering, set their starting point, and manage settings. The gate is there to keep these controls in adult hands.

How do I set my child's starting level?

Open the grown-up area and choose a starting point. For example, an advanced child can begin further along the journey (such as Array Grove) rather than at the very first world. From there, Numina keeps adjusting automatically.

The questions seem too easy or too hard

Numina adapts as your child plays, so the level settles into a comfortable but challenging zone within a few sessions. It also mixes in occasional easier and harder questions on purpose, which research shows builds stronger, more flexible recall. If it still feels off, adjust the starting point in the grown-up area.

Does Numina work offline?

Yes. The full game works offline. An internet connection is only used for optional iCloud sync between your own devices.

Does it sync between iPhone and iPad?

Yes. If you enable iCloud for Numina, your child's progress syncs across your own iPhone and iPad through your private iCloud account. You can turn this off in your device settings if you prefer to keep each device separate.

Are there ads or in-app purchases?

There are no ads, ever. Numina is free and does not currently offer in-app purchases. There are no loot boxes and no pressure to spend.

The app crashed or is not responding

Make sure you are running the latest version of Numina and iOS or iPadOS. Try force-closing the app and reopening it, and if needed restart the device. If the problem continues, contact us with a short description of what your child was doing when it happened.
