Localwave — Privacy Policy

Introduction

Top 7 Systems ("we", "our", "us") built Localwave as a freemium application. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use Localwave. We are committed to protecting your privacy in compliance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information We Do Not Collect

Localwave is designed with privacy as a priority. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Your name, email address, or contact details
• Your GPS location or coordinates
• Your listening history or habits
• Your device identifiers or IP address
• Usage analytics or tracking data

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. No ATT (App Tracking Transparency) prompt is required because we do not track you.

Data That Stays on Your Device

All user data created within Localwave remains on your device. This includes:

• Favourite stations — Stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework.
• Station notes — Personal text notes attached to stations, stored on-device only.
• Stream recordings — Audio files saved to your device's local storage. Recordings automatically expire and are deleted after 30 days.
• Listening history — Stored locally for your convenience.
• Settings and preferences — Stream quality, sleep timer preferences, etc. Stored locally on your device.

Location Data

When you grant "While In Use" location permission, the app uses your coordinates solely to centre the map and show nearby stations. Your location is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to any server. You can deny location permission and still use the app by browsing the map manually.

Station Data

The app downloads a public database of Australian radio station metadata (names, frequencies, stream URLs, and approximate broadcast coordinates) from our content delivery network. This download does not include any personal information. The station database is cached locally on your device.

Third-Party Services

• Apple (StoreKit 2) — Subscription purchases are processed by Apple. We do not see or store your payment details. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Apple Location Services — Used on-device for map centering. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Radio station streams — When you play a station, your device connects directly to that station's audio stream server. The station operator's own privacy policy may apply to that connection.

Subscriptions

Localwave+ is an auto-renewable subscription processed through the Apple App Store. We do not collect or have access to your payment information. All transactions are handled by Apple. Subscription options:

• Yearly: A$4.99/year
• Monthly: A$0.99/month

Children's Privacy

Localwave does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The app does not require account creation or personal data entry.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by:

• Removing individual favourites, notes, or recordings from within the app
• Uninstalling Localwave from your device, which removes all app data

Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access and correct any personal information we hold. Since we do not collect personal information, there is no data to access or correct.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
