Stampr for Android — Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 11, 2026

Introduction

Top 7 Systems ("we", "our", "us") built Stampr for Android as a commercial application. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use Stampr.

Information We Do Not Collect

Stampr is designed with privacy as a priority. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

  • Your name, email address, or contact details
  • Your GPS location or coordinates
  • Your photos, videos, or voice recordings
  • Your device identifiers, advertising ID, or IP address
  • Usage analytics or tracking data

Stampr contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. There are no ads, no advertising ID is used, and there is no account to create or sign in to. We operate no user-data servers.

Data That Stays on Your Device

All data created within Stampr remains on your device. This includes:

  • Photos — Both original and stamped photos are stored in the app's private storage on your device.
  • Videos — Stamped videos are processed on-device and saved to your own gallery (the Movies/Stampr folder).
  • GPS data — Coordinates, altitude, and bearing are used only to stamp your photos (and, if enabled, to embed standard EXIF location metadata in the photo files you choose to share) and are stored on-device.
  • Voice recordings and transcripts — Audio is stored locally with the associated photo. Speech recognition runs entirely on-device using the open-source Whisper speech model. Your audio is never uploaded anywhere.
  • AI note cleanup and tags — On supported devices, note cleanup and tag suggestions run entirely on-device using Android's built-in AI model (Gemini Nano). Your notes are never sent to us or to any server.
  • Street addresses — Reverse geocoding uses Google Play services on your device. The resulting address is stored on your device. We do not receive or store this data.
  • Project files — When you choose "Share Project File", Stampr packages your photos and metadata into a file that is shared only through the channels you select (Quick Share, email, Drive, etc.). We never receive a copy.
  • Settings and preferences — Stored locally on your device.

Backups and Device Transfer

If you have Google backup enabled on your device, Stampr's settings (including the free-tier photo counter) may be included in your cloud backup. Your photos, videos, and voice notes are excluded from cloud backup — they exist only on your device, so keep your own copies of important work (for example by sharing project files). When you move to a new phone with Android's device-to-device transfer, everything — photos included — transfers directly between the two devices. Backups are managed by Google and subject to Google's privacy policy; we have no access to them.

Network Connections and Third-Party Services

Stampr connects to the internet only for the following, and none of these connections carry your personal data to us:

  • Google Play services (location & geocoding) — For GPS fixes and turning coordinates into a street address. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • OpenStreetMap — Map imagery in the library map, the optional map inset on the stamp, and PDF report overviews is fetched anonymously from OpenStreetMap tile servers (no account, no identifiers beyond a standard web request). Subject to the OSM Foundation Privacy Policy. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.
  • Speech model download — The first time you use voice notes, Stampr downloads the Whisper speech-recognition model (~32 MB) from Hugging Face's public model hub. This is a one-time download of the model file itself; no personal data is sent, and all transcription afterwards happens on-device, even offline.
  • Android AICore (Gemini Nano) — On supported devices, Android may download the on-device AI model used for note cleanup. This is managed by Android; note processing itself happens on your device.
  • Google Play Billing — For the one-time Pro purchase and for app distribution and updates.

In-App Purchases

Stampr Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed through Google Play. We do not collect or have access to your payment information. All transactions are handled by Google.

Permissions

Stampr requests only what it needs to do its job:

  • Camera — to take photos and record video.
  • Location (precise) — to stamp GPS coordinates, altitude, bearing, and street address onto your photos. Used only while the app is in use, processed on-device.
  • Microphone — for voice notes and video sound, only while recording.
  • Internet — for the map imagery, address lookup, the one-time speech model download, and Google Play Billing.

Stampr does not request access to your contacts, files, or photo library, and does not run in the background.

Children's Privacy

Stampr is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by:

  • Deleting individual photos or projects from within the app
  • Clearing the app's storage via Android Settings > Apps > Stampr > Storage > Clear storage
  • Uninstalling Stampr from your device, which removes all app data

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
